The Winter Guard & Percussion State Championships Conclude
The Campo Verde Junior Varsity Guard (CV Green), Varsity Guard (CV Copper), and Indoor Percussion Ensemble (CVIPE) concluded a highly competitive season after performing at the WGAZ Championships held at the Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Arizona. The groups performed under the direction of caption heads, Amanda Flores, Justin Galvez, and supporting staff.
The Championships began on Friday, March 29th, in which the Green guard competed against 29 high schools and scored an impressive 71.58 points making fifth place in the Scholastic Regional A class. Thereafter, on Saturday, March 30th, the Copper guard entered the arena with pride, confidence, and ready to perform their final act called “Revolution,” finishing in seventh place after scoring 75.375 points. Later that night, the CVIPE delivered their final electrifying performance “After the Fall,” scoring 82.225 points taking fourth place in its class.
Undoubtedly, the passion, commitment, dedication, and hard work of all the winter season members, including staff and parents, led to this successful season. Surely, the journey that the members have shared during the season has built long lasting friendships, strong character, and indispensable leadership. The members look ahead to the next season with pride.
