Winter Concerts - Rock the Auditorium!
This week our students performed for the Jazz and Chamber Music concert, jazz combos, and flute choir on Monday night followed by our Tuesday night performances by our Concert band, Symphonic band, Wind Ensemble, United Sound, and Symphony Orchestra performance. Each night was a crowd pleaser as students showcased their musical talent and hard work leading to these spectacular performances. The special effects/light show brought the auditorium to life as stage lights danced to the beat of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra version of Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 played by the Symphonic Orchestra.
Due to the steady growth of the music programs, this year our band directors split the prior one-night performance into two separate evenings of entertainment to cut the time down for students, parents, staff, and spectators alike. So far, the feedback has been positive and we are happy to have made this change. Seeing the positive growth of these young adults is a special treat as they are performing college-level pieces, working collaboratively across band groups, and expanding their skill sets each week. Special thanks goes out to the parents and families for their ongoing support and to the Music and Arts faculty and staff, CVHS Administration, and auditorium manager. Happy Holidays to all!
