School’s OUT! Band is IN!
School has been out for 4 weeks but for the Coyote Pride Marching Band it’s a busy season! Summer practice is off to a strong start with Colorguard, Winds, and Drumline rehearsals weekly. It is neat to see new faces mixed among the seasoned veterans who know how necessary and fun these early practices are during the summer months. The marching band commitment requires self-discipline, dedication, mental fortitude, teamwork, released comfort-zones, musical ability, and most importantly it teaches members how to grow from adversity while building a can-do culture. On top of all these things come camaraderie, friendships, and the realization that the team only functions when every person shows up prepared and ready to be the best version of themselves.
The Car Wash/Dog Wash held on campus Saturday, 6/22/19 showcased the Coyote Pride Commitment as band students, parents, friends, and the community came together to fundraise for the entire band program. It was humbling to see how hard each person worked to make this event a success! Special thanks to the Later Tater! food truck for providing food and beverages throughout the day. The BPO (Band Parent Organization) is busy planning fundraising events, band camp, and all of the new school year events kicking off early this fall. If you have shown an interest in helping the booster in any capacity this coming school year, we are in the midst of planning and will be in touch in the coming weeks.
