The Campo Verde Bands Deliver Electrifying "Sounds of The Season"
The Campo Verde High School's musical ensembles delivered an electrifying performance during the 'Sounds of The Season' concert on Tuesday, December the 11th. The bands performed under the direction of Matt Kozacek, and Taylor Mitchell.
The concert kicked off with joyful Jazz classics inspired by Michael Collins-Dowden's "Big Noise From the North Pole," Alan Baylock's arrangement of "Go Tell It On The Mountain," and Roger Holmes arrangement of "Christmas Time is Here" composed by Vince Guaraldi, among other popular selections. The enchanting evening continued with the Concert and Symphonic bands' variety of repertoire, including "Three English Folk Songs" arranged by John Edmondson, and "Nightmare Before Christmas Medley" inspired by composer Danny Elfman, arranged by Michael Brown.
Following a brief intermission, the Wind Ensemble, featuring clarinet soloist John Burton, delivered a set of dramatic-sounding melodies, including Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog Rhapsody" composed by Scott McAllister, and "Angels in the Architecture" by Frank Ticheli. The night concluded with one of Mannheim Steamroller's popular Christmas carols "Still Nacht," and "Robert Sheldon's "A Most Wonderful Christmas" performed by the Symphony Orchestra.
